Sugar Rush Sugar Cookies

Sugar Rush Sugar Cookies

Ahh, the sugar cookie. It is the staple cookie of all cookies. Many types of cookies can be built upon its solid sweet base, and alone it can please the masses. Even better is how easy making sugar cookies. And no, I am not talking about buying the log of dough from the store. Today, I am going to create the simple sugar cookie, topped with pink crystals.

The creation of this treat is rather simple but a few helpful hints are clean as you go when working with dough (it is very sticky and hardens). Don’t mess with the cookies while cooking…they are fragile while hot. And, don’t eat more than 4 in one sitting…just trust me.

Ingredients

- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted melted butter
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon milk
- pink sugar crystals (decoration for the top of our cookie)

Preperation

First preheat our oven to 375.

Then in a bowl mix our sugar and melted butter. Mix until creamy and velvety and almost good enough to eat and set aside.

Sift all our dry ingredients together in a separate bowl.

Now we want to beat our egg and vanilla into our sugar butter. Once combined mix in the dry ingredients until you have a thick cookie dough.

On a non-greased cookie sheet, use a table spoon to dob rounded balls of dough. This dough will grow a bit during cooking, so don’t make it to much bigger than a table spoon unless you want giant cookies.

Bake in the over for 8 minutes, and let cool for 5 minutes before transferring them to a plate.

Top with our pink sugar crystals and serve with milk. A great hit the family will love.
